After the Veterans World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, it was the best kata specialists who took part on the 9th and 10th. November fought for the world championship title in five special disciplines and two age categories. A total of 282 judoka from 32 countries and 5 continents took part.
It was the fifteenth edition of the KATA World Championships, the draw of which took place at the Rio Hotel Conference Center in the presence of Jean-Luc Rougé, IJF Development and Promotion Director, 10th Dan, Franco Capelletti, Chairman of the IJF Kata Commission, 10th . Dan and Daniel De Angelis, Director of the Commission.
Both Carinthian teams were able to qualify for this world championship thanks to their performance. Both the Katame-no-kata and the Kodokan Goshin-jutsu were very strong with 22 pairs. With a strong performance each, our couples did well at this championship.

The 3rd national team pair Vanessa Wenzl/Matthias Heinrich (Katame-no-kata) were even able to qualify for the final with a top performance, where they ultimately achieved 6th place.
