Kendrick Lamar releases a surprise new album

LOS ANGELES, 23 NOV – Rap star Kendrick Lamar, who also won a Pulitzer Prize for testing his songs in 2018, surprisingly releases a new album with 12 tracks. It’s called ‘Gnx’ and is the sixth studio album by the 37-year-old Los Angeles artist. It comes at the end of a year that saw his popularity fueled by a dissing feud with Drake that produced some of the year’s biggest hits. One of them, Lamar’s Not Like Us, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and earned him multiple Grammy nominations for next year. ‘Gnx’ arrives two years after the album ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’ released in 2022 and arrived after a five-year wait. The album’s surprise release comes just in time for February’s Super Bowl halftime show, which the rapper will headline. It’s the coveted showcase that takes place in the middle of the NFL season finale, which is regularly watched by about a third of Americans. In the past, Michael Jackson, Prince, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Madonna, Beyoncè, Lady Gaga and Coldplay have performed, just to name a few. (ANSA-AFP).
