ABIDJAN (Ivory Coast) – Cape Verdean club Kriol Star has received a wild card to participate in the Elite 16 of the Road to BAL, Eastern Division in Nairobi, Kenya, FIBA ​​Africa announced.

The eight-team playoff tournament for the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) season will take place at Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, Kenya, from Thursday, November 28 to Tuesday, December 3. November 30 will be a day of rest.

The teams participating in the Elite 16 of the Eastern Division are as follows: Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya), Uruna Basketball Club (Burundi), City Oilers (Uganda), Bravehearts (Malawi), Matero Magic (Zambia), MMB (South Africa), Fox Basketball (South Sudan), Kriol Star (Cap Vert).

The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four and will compete in a round-robin system.

The teams that finish in the first two places in each group advance to the semi-finals, the winners of which qualify for Season 5 of the BAL.
