From his simple study on the 16th floor of an office building in Frankfurt’s financial district, Ahmet Kudsi Arslan controls perhaps the most unusual bank in Germany. Private and business people can open an account with it, invest money and take out loans, just like with any financial institution. But KT Bank does not pay interest, does not broker securities transactions, and there is no overdraft facility either: “We do not offer this because it violates our principles,” says Arslan, Chairman of the Managing Board and CEO of KT Bank.
