La Pampa advances in Araucanía

The Province qualified for the semifinals in soccer, volleyball and men’s basketball. He also added medals in athletics, swimming and judo.

A new day of the XXXI Binational Games of Araucanía has passed, which will be held from Monday to this Friday in Chile.

In Coyhaique, in women’s and men’s volleyball, the La Pampa teams solidly won their commitments, and are consolidating themselves as the main candidates for the gold medals.

The women’s team, which has already advanced to the semifinals, started the day with a comfortable victory against Los Lagos by 3 to 1 (25-20, 25-9, 20-25 and 25-14).

From the beginning of the match, the Pampas were superior, and the set they lost was due to their own errors rather than the opponent’s successes. In the afternoon, La Pampa defeated Chubut with a resounding 3 to 0 (25-23, 25-17 and 25-15.

“I am happy to be able to play, to defend La Pampa. For me it is the fourth Araucanía Games, but there are girls who are competing for the first time and have to let go,” said Catalina Arrigone, the undisputed figure of the Pampas team.

Catalina maintained that it was important to have won the first match against the champion Río Negro. “This victory helped us calm down for the other matches.” Finally, the Argentine National Team player commented that it is very important to be able to close the classification in first place.

The Pampa team, which leads Group B with 10 points, followed by Araucanía, also with 10, and Rio Negro, with 9, will compete again today at 9 against Los Ríos.

In men’s volleyball, La Pampa beat Araucanía 3 to 0 (25-14, 25-16 and 25-14), in 1 hour of play, and this Thursday they will face Magallanes at 9. La Pampa leads first place in Group B with 5 points, followed by Santa Cruz with 5, Araucanía with 4 and Los Rios with 4.

In athletics, Juan Salvador Olivero Gómez won the silver medal in the discus throw.

In judo, La Pampa added a silver and a bronze medal: Francisco De La Prida won silver with second place in the 66 kilo category; and Ximena Alfonso was third in third at 52 kilos.

In the judo medal table La Pampa is fourth, while in the women’s medal table, it is eighth.

Puerto Aysen

In men’s basketball, the La Pampa National Team beat Santa Cruz by 61 to 58, in a vibrant match.

With this victory, the Pampas practically achieved a ticket to this Thursday’s semifinal against Bío Bío, a match scheduled for 5:00 p.m.

It should be noted that La Pampa finished first in Group B, ahead of Santa Cruz, Araucanía and Los Ríos.

Meanwhile, in women’s basketball, La Pampa, which has several injuries, lost to Los Lagos 67 to 31.

In swimming, La Pampa once again reached the podium: José Gramajo won the gold medal in the 1,500 meter freestyle, with 16.20.76, and silver in the 200 meter medley. While Carla Martina Souto won the bronze medal with third place in the 800 meter freestyle.

Punta Arenas

The Pampas soccer team qualified for the semifinals, after beating Tierra del Fuego 6 to 1, and qualified for the semifinals.

La Pampa had to beat Tierra del Fuego by four goals at the close of Zone B of the competition to qualify for the semifinals, and won 6 to 1, with an unforgettable first half, which closed 5 to 1, with a triplet by Bruno Fernández and two other goals from Fabricio Piacenza.

This Thursday, from 3 p.m. and at the Antonio Ríspoli Díaz Fiscal Stadium, La Pampa will go in search of the final against Chubut, which was the best in Zone D (of four teams) winning its three games against Bío Bío, Magallanes and Santa Cross.

This Thursday, from 9 a.m. and at the Antonio Ríspoli Díaz Fiscal Stadium, the Pampas will face Araucanía, who won Zone A with two wins over Aysén (5 to 0) and Santa Cruz (1 to 0).
