Lara became national master baseball champion
This Thursday the XXVII National Master Championship (Over 40 years) concluded with the victory of Lara by the minimum difference 3 to 2 against Carabobo​, after razing during the tournament to finish undefeated, first beating Yaracuy 10 to one at the start of the tournament on Saturday, to take the first positive step in the championship.

After the 7-0 forfeit victory against Distrito Capital, Lara achieved his third victory by beating those who would eventually be his rivals in the final, beating Carabobo 8-2. A day later, they beat Zulia 3 to 2 in a close game, to reach 4-0 and closed the Opening Round of the tournament undefeated and reached the final by beating Miranda 3 to 0 by shutout.

Lara would face Carabobo again in the final and would leave them on the field with a result of 3 to 2, thus proclaiming himself champion of the tournament. Fernando Vásquez left without a decision, but he excelled by pitching seven innings in which he allowed six hits, with two runs, one walk and four strikeouts.

While Nelson Aguiero was the great offensive protagonist by going 1 for 2 with two RBIs and two walks, he was accompanied by Octavio Bocaranda who went 1 for 3 with RBI.Jesús Yépez was the winner, pitching a blank eighth inning, in which he barely allowed one walk and struck out one.

Other championships

On the other hand, this Friday begins the fourth edition of the National Under 11 Baseball Championship, which will take place in three host cities in the state of Aragua. The states of Guárico, Portuguesa, Falcón, Aragua, Bolívar and Nueva Esparta will compete in Maracay as group A. Meanwhile, the teams from Miranda, Lara, Táchira, Anzoátegui and Yaracuy, belonging to Group B, will face each other in La Victoria. Finally, in group C, those selected from Carabobo, Capital District, Sucre, Zulia and Trujillo are grouped, who will have action in San Mateo.
