PRAGUE – This was a matter of life. An unknown man fell into the subway tracks in Prague, Czech Republic. During the fall, one of the passers-by tried to catch him, but he did not succeed. Nevertheless, he did not hesitate for a moment, and since it was a matter of seconds, he immediately pressed the emergency button, which saved his life. The Czech police reported on the case on Thursday on their website, which published footage of the fateful moments.
Last week (October 24), the Czech police received a report on the emergency call line about a man falling into the subway tracks at the Florenc station in Prague. One of the passengers arriving at the platform saw with his own eyes, how right in front of him the man fell onto the track, where he remained motionless.
“The man tried to catch him while he was falling, but he didn’t succeed. However, immediately and without a single hesitation, he pressed the emergency button, which was located at the end of the platform. Together with other passengers, they then called for help via the emergency line,” approached the police.

The man wanted to commit suicide
Upon arriving at the scene, the police officers immediately contacted the control station and, based on its permission to safely enter the track, crawled directly to the man and began to provide him with first aid. The man had no visible injuries, but was unable to properly communicate with the patrol. He only told the police that he had taken a large amount of medication and decided to commit suicide.
“However, thanks to a very quick reaction, an unknown passenger, who was no longer at the scene when the police arrived, saved his life just a minute before the arrival of the subway train. The called paramedics then took the man to the hospital.” describes the police, who thanked the unknown man for saving his life.
At the same time, the police would like to thank everyone who reacts immediately and tries to press the emergency button to help a person who has fallen into the tracks by accident or because of solving a difficult life situation or as a result of a medical condition.
