With the departure of Pro Evolution Soccer, those who fancy a football game are left with one of two options. Those who want to be on the field themselves choose FC, while those who like to spend time on the sidelines choose Football Manager.

This doesn’t mean there aren’t other games based around the world’s most popular sport, but they usually don’t even come close to the level players are used to, quickly falling into obscurity. World of Football hopes to avoid that fate.

This minimalist football game, in which it looks like Roomba robot vacuum cleaners are running across the field, has announced that it will be released in Steam Early Access on November 20 and a trailer has been released online in honor of that.

“At its core, World of Football is all about its players, their skills and teamwork,” writes solo developer Rafael Bücker Rapalo in an accompanying email. “Our physics-driven mechanics ensure every move is impactful and in full control, rewarding players who take the time to master the game, while putting the emphasis on a strong team. Whether you play competitively online, play casually or practice offline; I want players to join me in building this game and defining the future of the purest football experience, where raw talent, realistic physics and teamwork define everything.”
