The Vigo judoka conquered yesterday for the second time the gold medal in the -63 kilos category of the European Under-23 Championship, wound that he had already achieved last year and that adds to the junior continental title that he won in 2022 and the runner-up in the junior world championship in 2021.
At 22 years old, the Famu de Frutos athlete faced her second and last U-23 European Championship in the Polish town of Pila, and confirmed the forecasts that placed her as one of the main candidates for the first place on the podium at defeat the Belgian Alessia Corrao in the final -by ippon.
To reach that last fight, Laura first defeated the Georgian Gvantsa Mtchedlishvili and then defeated the Italian Carlotta Avanzato, victories that allowed them to win in group B and qualify for the semifinals without going through the play-offs.
