The last competition of the Boxing Olmes Association in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), took place in Alès, The Primal League, for a women’s fight. Anna Rodriguez, category – 52 kg, faced for this event, the number 2 in the national ranking of the MMA federation. The weigh-in and face-off took place on Friday evening, the day before the fight. “On Saturday, you have to stay focused but without necessarily putting too much pressure on yourself for Anna” underlines her trainer, Frédéric Parant, before the fight. The day ends with the installation of bandages by the cutmans (specific trainer) to properly protect the hands of the fighters. Anna’s fight is scheduled for around 11:30 p.m. Concentration, repetition of ranges, technique and strategy to apply are repeated in a corner of the locker room before the fight. The time is coming, the fight is about to start. Anna is well focused and ready to enter the cage. She cannot leave room for doubt. Final instructions from the referee and the fight begins for 3 rounds of 3 minutes. Anna perfectly respects the techniques worked on, lets her aggressiveness speak for herself in striking and wrestling techniques and avoids the traps set by her opponent. She hits hard and her opponent’s face shows Anna’s precise impacts. The Lavelanetian wins her fight unanimously and can explode her joy. A clear victory. Work in the multisports center room on Monday resumed for the rest of the events, at the end of November, in preparation for the Limoux gala where Anna will have to face a tough opponent, from judo.
