Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has announced that he will be taking an indefinite break from social media. The main reason he cites his frustration with the negative reporting in sports. The NBA’s record scorer announced this on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
James’ decision came after he shared a post from Rich Kleiman, Kevin Durant’s longtime manager, in which he criticized the media’s negativity. Kleiman wrote,
“We can all recognize that sport is the last part of society that universally brings people together. So why can’t reporting do the same?”
James posted the comment with a simple “AMEN!!” and added his own message:
“And on that note, I holla you all! I’m leaving social media for the foreseeable future. Take care of yourselves”.
And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care ✌🏾👑

This isn’t the first time James has stepped away from social media. He’s taken breaks before, usually to focus on basketball, but this time he highlighted the overwhelming negativity he’s encountered online. James mentioned that he often faces accusations of lying, especially after comments about players he watched in college.
