Leones, Indios and Cangrejeros with victories in the winter league – El Calce

The Cangrejeros de Santurce, the Indios de Mayagüez and the Leones de Ponce achieved victories on Sunday, winning in the continuation of the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (LBPRC).

The Cangrejeros defeated the Carolina Giants in a doubleheader 2-1 and 3-1 at Hiram Bithorn Stadium. In the first game, Santurce scored two runs in the second inning and the Giants only added one in the third inning. Michael Martínez won the first game, while in the second, Bryan Chi won and Darvin García was defeated. With the victory, Santurce improves its record to 4-6, while Carolina remains at 5-7.

The Indios de Mayagüez won 7-1 and 4-0 against the Criollos de Caguas at the Yldefonso Solá Morales Stadium. In the first game, Mayagüez scored two in the first inning and added five more in the sixth. Carlos Francisco took the victory and Héctor Santiago defeated it. In the second game, Mayagüez scored in the fourth and fifth innings. Luis Leroy Cruz was the winner, while Ángel González took the loss. With these wins, the Indians improved their record to 9-2, while the Criollos remain at 3-7.

The Leones de Ponce won 3-2 against the Senators of San Juan at the Francisco “Paquito” Montaner Stadium. Ponce scored three runs early, and although San Juan added two in the ninth, they failed to tie it. Yoanis Quiala took the victory and Rubén Ramírez the defeat. With this victory, Ponce improves its record to 5-5, while San Juan remains at 6-5.
