The unveiling of the hall of fame, called ‘Loosduiners in Professional Football,’ was a moment for many to not only honor talent, but also to reminisce about players who started their football journey at SV Loosduinen. The club canteen on Madesteinweg was decorated with shirts of the players, who were all once youth players at the club and later reached professional football. Those in attendance, including family members of the honored players, enjoyed a festive atmosphere with speeches and personal anecdotes.
Family and former players
Special about this day was the presence of the De Zoete family and the Vrieling family. Mrs. De Zoete, mother of former player Piet de Zoete, and grandmother Vrieling had a prominent role in the ceremony. Former player Michelle Vrieling, who currently lives in Thailand, also took part in the ceremony via a video message. “It feels very special that my time at Loosduinen is so appreciated,” says Michelle. Piet de Zoete, who played three international matches for the Dutch national team in his career and is still an inspiring figure within the club, was honored with a shirt hung in his memory.

Strong start
After the ceremony, the first Loosduinen team came into action against DHL from Delft, a team that is having a hard time in the competition. Before the match there was a subdued minute’s silence for Mrs Van Vliet, a dear club family member, and the players wore mourning bands.
The start of the match could hardly have been better. Loosduinen, with Kris Flinterman, Tom Vrieling and Rafe Rimmelzwaan in the starting line-up, started brightly. Early in the match, Erdi Cinar set the tone with a goal, which immediately gave Loosduinen a 1-0 lead. DHL tried to recover, but Loosduinen kept the upper hand and had a few chances to extend the lead. Shortly before halftime, it was Jason Molenkamp who missed the post with a hard shot, after which Nemo Verstraten took advantage of the rebound to make the score 2-0.
Dominance
After the break, Loosduinen continued with what they started in the first half: attacking football. Coach Paats’ team continued to put pressure, which quickly led to a third goal. Via a sharp cross the ball reached Tom Vrieling, who easily scored the 3-0. DHL came up dangerous with a long shot, but Rimmelzwaan kept the goal clean.
Trainer Paats took the opportunity to make some changes, including the return of Bart Ruwaard after injuries. These substitutions seemed to give the team new energy, which resulted in a fourth goal. Kay Zwart, substituted for Molenkamp, brought the ball beautifully in front of the goal, after which Nemo Verstraten scored his second goal of the match and made the final score 4-0.
Next match
Loosduinen, which left a solid impression, is already looking forward to the next competition match. Next week the team will once again receive a Delft team, Concordia, at Sportpark Madestein. The kick-off is at 2:30 PM. Supporters are cordially invited to come and cheer on the team.
