Binta Ndiaye is one of the greatest hopes of Swiss judo. Sport Dimanche painted a portrait of the Vaudoise, who experienced her first Olympic Games this summer in Paris and whose progress could allow her to play leading roles in four years in Los Angeles.
Binta Ndiaye fell in love with judo at the age of eight, somewhat by chance. “Basically, I was swimming with my sisters and I passed a judo room with a bay window where I could see the training. Each time I stopped and I really wanted to start. So I convinced my parents“, she explains.
A choice that has paid off since the Vaudoise already has, at only 20 years old, a nice track record including a title of U18 European champion in 2021, two bronze medals at the U21 World Championships and a first participation in the Olympic Games in Paris where she was eliminated in the round of 16 in the -52 kg category.
“I want to be the best, so I am motivated to work“, says Binta Ndiaye, who has made the decision to now fight in the -57 kg category. To continue her progress and achieve her goals, she trains three times a week in Yverdon, in one of the national centers with online with his sights set on his next big objective: the Paris tournament in 2025.
