The finals of the ECAC tournament will be held this Monday, November 11, on the covered courts of the Maurice-Aubry space. There were one hundred participants in total, including 82 men, less than last year (130), but as many as in 2022.
Among the women, there were no surprises in the semi-final, with the very rapid qualifications of Bragarde Alexandra Hofmann (15) and Anne Fourot (5/6, Rivière de Corps). The two favorites in the table were playing at 15/5, Maud Aubertot, from Nogent, and Maryvonne Bertrand, from ECAC, for Bragarde.
In the men’s table, the qualification of Grégoire Foissey (2/6, Longvic), a regular at the finals in Chaumont and himself a former Chaumont player, is not a surprise. He dominated Julien Maulini (15, ECAC), 6-2, 6-2. In the other part of the table, the young Chaumontais Lucas Yung achieved a 5/6 performance against Alexis Rémond (Longvic), (6-1, 6-1). This will be his first final at the ECAC.
It should be noted the very good performances of Maxime Chevalier (15/3, ECAC), who achieved a “perf” at 15/1 and 15/2, just like Maxence Delerue (15/2, ECAC), who also earned one step higher. The young Jules Lefèvre (15/2, Bourmont) also passed several rounds, with a success against Sylvain Fèvre (15/1, ECAC).
After, at 11:30 a.m., the end-of-table and consolation finals, apart from the end of table 3e men’s series, which will end during the week, the meeting is at 1:30 p.m. for the women’s final and at 3:30 p.m. for the men.
