Lukeš: Miner in Jablonec? Like sex without climax. Uchenna I understand, but for a package

But we will start in Jablonec. Looking at the table, one has to say that the loss is a shame. Even more so when she didn’t have to come. If the home team had been better, had more chances and outplayed Baník, we would have thought: OK, but it wasn’t like that.

I spoke with Michal Frydrych on Sunday and he told me that they felt good about the performance. I agree with Hapal that Baník pushed the opponent, had more options, but also made more mistakes. I supply that. Moreover, Jablonec knew how to punish them. From Ostrava’s point of view, it was like sex without climax. Without the end everyone wishes for.

Martin Lukeš (46 years old) is a former soccer midfielder. With the exception of one season (2003/04), when he was in Slavia Prague, he spent his entire career in Baník Ostrava, where he was captain for many years. Between 1997 and 2014, he played for Baník in a total of 323 matches (316 in the league), scoring 42 goals. In the 2009/2010 season, he helped Slezan to third place in the league table. He played twice in friendly matches for the national team, scoring two goals in them.

As I praised after Sparta and Dukla, now I have to criticize. I’ve said it here several times. Football is decided in the round of 16. In one you must not make a mistake, in the other you must punish. What bothers me for a long time are the standard ones at Baník. On both sides. Jablonec didn’t need to show great skill, he just went all out in the ending.

Yes, the player headed in an unusual area, it may happen that he scores a goal, but then you have to be able to respond. A miner? Nothing. He can’t help himself and that makes the difference in similar matches. A big minus that costs the team points. And perhaps those from Jablonec may be missing.

Throwing away chances will no longer be just about bad luck either, as it is repeated across the squad. One time he won’t give it, the other time others won’t. And Markovič and Uchenna didn’t exactly have their day either. And when it comes to Uchenna, I understand the interesting story and the interest in him.

I’ll understand if he leaves, even if I don’t want it. We cannot expect a boy from Nigeria to become a patriot, a heartthrob who will distinguish if he goes to a rival. The fighter is here to sell himself, to build a career and make more and more money. If he helps to succeed, and then moves on – easily to Sparta – I understand. But let it go for a proper package. Like Letáček.

Otherwise, it just happened in Jablonec Baník. Admittedly, nice football, plenty of scoring chances, but most of them unconverted and mistakes in defense. Then you win the hard way. But I wouldn’t make a drama out of it again. And if I turn it a little positive, the action at the Riga goal was like something from a textbook of modern football. Goalkeeper kick, a few passes, twenty seconds across the field, a nice shot and you’re happy. All in a sprint. This is how it should look.

Rigo is getting back to his former form. In addition, he adds diligence and combativeness to his football prowess. Hats off to you because not everyone would rise like this. Someone would rather look for reasons everywhere, except for themselves. Holzer caught my attention again. What the players should take away from the match as a positive is that they had a chance even against a blocked block. That the helplessness from last season or the beginning of this season, when they didn’t know how to deal with ten guys in their own half, was no longer there when playing to the full.

I also came across an interesting opinion. According to some fans, Plzeň often plays nothing. It was like that in Baník and now in Hradec. He doesn’t hold the ball that much, he doesn’t combine, he doesn’t have many chances, but when he does, he punishes. That’s why he has six points from those matches. The miner must learn to win even in this “dirty” way. Then it will aim very high. And I still lack more support from substitute players to revitalize the team after being substituted. I don’t see that with Tank, Rusnák and others.

Hopefully it will improve, because at the end of autumn Baník will need it. Now let’s look forward to Karvina, who plays good football, she will definitely not come just to defend, she is on top, so it can be a great match. Above all, let people come. It takes a full stadium.

Finally, I would like to say a few lines about the Evžen Hadamczik Memorial, which Baník won. Congratulations to the boys and coach Dan Rygl because it was an amazing and special experience. In addition, I met legends like Pavol Michalik, Zdeněk Rygel and others, so I enjoyed it. Hopefully we will see one of the youngsters in the A’s in a few years.
