Magallanes finalist in women’s basketball

CUsing a solid presentation, Magallanes beat Santa Cruz yesterday in the semifinals by 79-58 and qualified for the grand final of women’s basketball in the Araucanía Binational Games that are taking place in the Aysén Region.

The team led by Renato Torres, which remains undefeated in four games, had a change of rival, since initially it was thought that it would face the best second in the first phase under strict scoring criteria, in that case Neuquén, which participated in the only group of five teams (the others were four). Based on this, Santa Cruz demanded his presence in the “semi” appealing to a better performance percentage with fewer games played.

Line for the sum, Magallanes once again faced the team from the neighboring Argentine province, whom he had already beaten in zone “A” (57-48) and yesterday he did it again but with greater authority, winning in all the quarters (27-10, 14-12, 19-18 and 19-11).

The final will be today at 3 p.m. at the Aysén Sports Center against Río Negro, who in the other “semi” eliminated Biobío 64-63 in a disputed match.

Meanwhile, the Magellanic team that participated in men’s basketball ended its participation with four losses and in last place, losing yesterday 50-52 to Ñuble in the twelfth place match.
