Olof Mellberg and Andreas Engelmark leave BP after the season.

According to Sportbladet’s information, P19 coach Ulf Kristiansson is ready for a coaching role in the club’s A team next year.

Now BP is also working hard to bring in IFK Norrköping’s Fredrik Landén until 2025 – and the club has the duo as first choice as coach for next year.

BP will also play in Allsvenskan in 2025.

The club secured the contract with two rounds remaining, as they have 34 points and still have to face IFK Värnamo and Malmö FF.

Olof Mellberg and Andreas Engelmark have led the club successfully for two years, but will now leave after the season. Something that Fotbollskanalen was the first to report.

Engelmark has been connected with both BK Häcken and Djurgården, and BP’s search for new coaches for the A team has been ongoing for some time.

According to Sportbladet’s information, Ulf Kristiansson, BP’s current P19 coach, is ready for a role in the A team next year.

Listened to Fredrik Landén

The 41-year-old has extensive experience in the coaching profession and already in 2010 he was part of Lars Lagerbäck’s and Roland Andersson’s leadership staff when they led Nigeria’s national team “The Super Eagles” during the World Cup in South Africa.

After that, Kristiansson has had several roles with the Swedish Football Association, where he was, among other things, the association captain for many youth national teams.

He has also been assistant coach to Andreas Alm in AIK, head coach for HTFF and head coach for Vittsjö GIK in the women’s league.

But BP is now looking for a head coach and the club is looking for a young coach who still has a lot of experience in A-team football in the Allsvenskan.

According to Sportbladet’s information, BP has already agreed with IFK Norrköping’s assistant coach Fredrik Landén, about taking a role as head coach at the club next year.

An initial contact has been made with the 30-year-old and he is the club’s first choice. Landén has been on the table at BP in previous years, but then it has not happened. Before the job in Norrköping, Landén was Sylvia’s head coach and has been a youth coach in IFK Gothenburg for many years.

It remains to be seen whether the re-signing attempt is successful now, but it is clear in any case that Fredrik Landén and Ulf Kristiansson are the club’s first choice as a duo to lead the club in 2025. Exactly how the division of roles between the two would look is not completely nailed down yet, but will become clear if Landén thanks yes.
