A man from Quickborn in Schleswig-Holstein received 1,700 identical letters from the tax office in the mail at once. The reason was a “technical error” in the automated processing of his application for access to the Elster online tax portal, as a spokeswoman for the state finance ministry in Kiel announced on Wednesday.
