With some 80 members, the Marcillac Judo club continues its good progress in the local associative landscape. It is at the Beau Soleil dojo that judo and taiso classes take place, a discipline which appears to be a good alternative to martial arts and fitness. Supervision is provided by Islam Adouyev, a qualified educator from the Rodez Judo club to which the local club is affiliated. Classes take place on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for 3/6 year olds and from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for ages 7 and over (taïso and preparatory gym); Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (5/7 year olds), 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (8/10 year olds) and 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. (adults). On the competition side, president Jérémy Harelle will try to get the few points he lacks to validate his black belt. Four young people, Léo, Mathis, Noë and Clotaire will take part in the Gers regional grand prix which will take place next Saturday in Auch, with the hope of following in the footsteps of Arthur Bourdoncle, who studied at Marcillac in 5 to 12 years, before joining Rodez and spending time at the Toulouse hope center.
Still a junior, he was crowned Occitanie champion in less than 60 kg in 2024.
Bronze medalist last weekend at the Excellence juniors national tournament in Clermont-Ferrand, he qualified for the French championship 1st elite division seniors (top 40) in less than 60 kg in Châlon-sur-Saône.
A bright sporting future in perspective for this young Marcillac resident who knew “ make the most of your excellent technical and physical qualities ” as Islam Adouyev, who was his first coach, proudly points out.
