After a distinguished career as a player and then as a coach, Marco Mazzieri he succeeded in his aim of being elected president of the Fibs (Italian Baseball and Softball Federation) during the 37th elective Assembly.
In the first vote, the outgoing president Andrea Marcon took the lead, followed closely by Mazzieri, but did not reach an absolute majority.
In the second vote, however, Mazzieri overtook him, closing with 56.04% of the votes, while his opponent stopped at 42.70%, while the blank votes were 1.26%.
Therefore, our fellow citizen was proclaimed Fibs president (the ninth in federal history) for the four-year period 2025-2028.
The first words of the new federal president were unequivocally inclusive:
We want to be everyone’s Federation>>.
“If they had told me 50 years ago that I would be President of this movement that has given me so much, I wouldn’t have believed it. We really want to be everyone’s Federation, we don’t want to leave anyone behind and we want to put the whole movement in a position to work at its best. Thanks so much to everyone” declared the new president immediately.
Mazzieri will be able to count on the support of the Federal Council as follows:
Pierluigi Bissa, Stefano Sbardolini, Federica Morri, Marina Centrone, Sabrina Olivero, Marco Mannucci, Sergio Piccinini in affiliate quota. Andrea Sgnaolin, Emanuela Giovinazzo in athletes’ quota. Ettore Finetti at technical level.
The President of the Board of Auditors is Dr. Federico Loda.
