The young judoka of the ASD Yoshinryu Judo Bordighera, Matteo Laganà, wrote a new page in his brilliant career by taking a well-deserved third place in the Trofeo Italia stage, held in Roncadelle (BS) on 17 November.
In the Beginners B category weighing 73 kg, Matteo demonstrated exponential growth, overcoming fierce opponents with refined technique and uncommon determination. His ippon achieved with a splendid o-uchi-gari throw in the second match was one of the most exciting moments of the competition.
“I’m really satisfied with this result – declared Matteo Laganà in the heat of the moment -. It was a very hard-fought race and I’m happy to have been able to give my best. I thank my coach Daniele Eviri, who follows me step by step, and all the company for the support they give me every day.”
Eviri, in turn, expressed great satisfaction with his athlete’s performance: “Matteo has shown that he is ready to face increasingly demanding challenges. His growth is constant and gradual, and I am sure that he will continue to improve. Now we will work to further refine his technique and tactics, so that he can face the next competitions with even more awareness.”
Starting from January 2025, Matteo will face a new challenge: the Cadet category. “I will start from scratch, but I am determined to leave my mark – declared Matteo -. The competition will be fiercer, but I am ready to give my all to achieve my goals”.
The ASD Yoshinryu Judo Bordighera company is proud of its young talent and supports it unconditionally. “Matteo is an example for all our athletes – declared Giacomo Bovenzi, one of the company’s coaches -. His passion, his dedication and his results are a source of inspiration for all of us”.
