Mazatlán deer secure series behind the effectiveness of Javier Solano

MAZATLAN._ Javier Solano brought out his experience in the center of the diamond, being supported by productions from Alonso Gaitán and Phillip Ervin, so that Venados de Mazatlán beat Águilas de Mexicali by a 2-0 shutout, securing the series at the Teodoro Marshal.

The match corresponded to the Honor Series, in the Banco Azteca 2024-2025 Season, of the Mexican Pacific Arco League.

Solano (3-3) was the winner by pitching six innings, in which he barely saw a couple of hits, in addition to striking out three rivals and walking one, improving his ERA to 4.35.

David Reyes (3-2) did not do badly for the visit, staying seven innings on the mound, with five hits against and one run, but he still had to take the loss.

The first run for Venados did not take long to arrive, since as soon as they had their first offensive opportunity, they managed to do damage. It all started with Fabricio Macías, who opened with a single and after two outs, he reached the scoreboard with a double from the on-fire Phillip Ervin.

It would be until the eighth inning when the scoreboard would move again and it would be in favor of the Buenos Aires team again. After one out, Fabricio Macías hit a triple and after hitting Ramiro Peña, Alonso Gaitán appeared to hit an RBI single that made it 2-0 on Teodoro Mariscal’s score.

For the upper part of the ninth round, Alex Tovalín was in charge of putting a stop to the match by retiring three rivals, although with an unstoppable in between. It was the third save for the Buenos Aires reliever.

For this Sunday, Venados will seek to close with all the wins against the border team, when they send Nolan Kingham (1-3) as starting pitcher, who will face Jesús Manuel Chávez (0-1) starting at 5:00 p.m. .
