For this edition, the Government of Mexico decided to recognize Olympic and Paralympic medalists in the non-professional sports category.
This decision was made due to the outstanding participation that Mexican athletes had in the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and in previous editions only one athlete was awarded per category.
Therefore, for the 2024 awards, six medalists from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be recognized by the Mexican government in the amateur category, among which divers stand out. Osmar Olvera y Juan Celaya.

Finally, in the category of sports judges or referees, the government decided to reward Katia Itzel Garciareferee of the Liga MX Femenil, who has whistled national and international matches and became the first woman to whistle a men’s game in the first division.
