Like on Monday, when she was champion in the 400 meter dash, yesterday Renata Godoy from Ushuaia won the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.49), in Coyhaique, for the 2nd day of the 31st Araucanía Games.
RIO GRANDE.- In the same test, Michelle Mathieu placed 4th (1:11.87). In addition, Galo Godoy from Rio Grande do Sul was runner-up in the long jump (6.69 meters).
In the same capital of the Eleventh Region, judo won a couple of medals, on the opening day of said discipline: Anyelina González placed 2nd in -52 kilos, one place ahead of that achieved by Morena Flores in -48.
Lucas Torres and Victoria Spahn were the ones who lost the least wheel in the 2nd cycling stage, which today will have a free day, in Punta Arenas, while the swimmers occupied positions far from the points, in Puerto Aysén.
The teams
In Punta Arenas, women’s soccer beat Ñuble 3-0, and a draw against Los Ríos (16:30) will be enough to finish 2nd and go to the Stimulus Round. After the free date, the men must beat La Pampa (11:00) to continue the same route.
Both branches of basketball fell in Puerto Aysén: the men against the winner of the area, Neuquén (112-33), the women against Aysén (49-35). From 3:00 p.m., the men’s team must beat the home team to advance to the Stimulus Round (5th/8th places), and the women’s team – already confirmed in 4th place in Zone A – will face Santa Cross.
There were falls for volleyball, in Coyhaique, all 3-0: against Bío Bío and Neuquén the women, who will have to beat Aysén (11:00) and Magallanes (18:00) to reach the Stimulus Round. While Aysén and Los Lagos were the executioners of the men, who three against Chubut (11:00) and Río Negro (18:00), will say goodbye to the contest tomorrow.
