The event is not only sporting in nature, but also a profound cultural activity, contributing to closer friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan. Japanese martial arts, with their rich spiritual and philosophical values, will offer us valuable experiences and meaningful lessons about perseverance, respect and solidarity.
In the current context of globalization, cultural and sporting exchanges have become more important than ever. Through the performances of the masters, we will not only be able to enjoy skillful techniques, but also gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s unique culture. It is a bridge that helps our younger generation understand and appreciate each other’s cultural values, thereby helping to build a harmonious and developed community.
Furthermore, this event will create many opportunities for young Vietnamese people to participate and interact with Japanese martial artists. These exchanges and workshops will not only help improve martial arts skills, but also broaden the understanding of Japanese culture. This will help establish a solid foundation for future generations, where mutual cultural respect will be encouraged.
Additionally, this event also creates opportunities for businesses, organizations and individuals in the community to connect and cooperate. We hope that through cultural and sporting activities, many new cooperation projects will emerge, thus contributing to the economic and cultural development of the two countries.
Komura Masahiko, head of the Japanese martial arts delegation and president of the public finance legal entity of Nippon Budokan, said: “This event is part of a series of events to celebrate the 50e anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam. We are very happy that the Japanese Budo delegation will have the opportunity to demonstrate the quintessence of traditional Japanese martial arts culture in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.”.

Over the years, Japan and Vietnam have built a deep friendship not only through economic exchanges, but also in the cultural and human fields.
This event is organized by Nippon Budokan, a public benefit organization founded in 1964 with the aim of promoting and popularizing martial arts, one of Japan’s traditional cultures, while contributing to the education of young people for the development healthy through martial arts, as well as the peace and well-being of the world. In 2021, the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games were held and the Nippon Budokan building hosted the judo and karate competitions.
Additionally, we have sent Budo delegations to 18 different countries to improve international understanding of Budo and contribute to the friendship between Japan and visiting countries.
