Men 60 from TG Uesen get one point

The men’s 60 team from TG Uesen achieved a fair 3:3 draw at THC Lüneburg in the tennis league. Already after the individual matches, which were all quite clear, it became apparent that the points would be divided. In the duel of the ones, Henning Vogt achieved a clear two-set win. During the course of the match, he repeatedly managed to return his opponent’s strong serve well and left no doubts at 6:1, 6:3. Holger Hildebrandt also won his match just as safely. As usual, he played powerfully and often brought his strong forehand to the target.

However, there was little to gain for the guests in positions three and four. Ehler Mindermann acted on equal terms for a long time, but in the decisive phases of each set his opponent showed more determination and thus secured the two-set win. Dieter Dill met a player who played significantly better than his performance level suggests on paper. “Dieter certainly didn’t play badly, but his opponent was extremely confident and there were hardly any opportunities,” explained Uesen’s team captain Henning Vogt. Both doubles ended up being even more exciting. Holger Hildebrandt and Ehler Mindermann narrowly missed the match tiebreak with their 3:6, 6:7, in which anything would have been possible again. Henning Vogt and Dieter Dill had to tremble again with the victory in mind.

“When the score was 6:3 and 5:3, we both had a collective blackout for around ten minutes. It’s just good that we were able to catch ourselves again,” reported Henning Vogt. After a 0:2 loss in the decisive third round, the TG Uesen duo found their way back to their old strength just in time and secured the team’s deserved point win with a 10:2.
