Lieshout – The men’s team of Badminton Club Lieshout has now ended up in fourth place in the 12th division in the national competition pool ‘Men Veer 2‘ after one loss and one win. With these results they maintain their previous position, but they have now had a tough opponent again.

The previous matches of the 2024/2025 season have brought mixed results for the men’s team of Badminton Club Lieshout. After two previous losses and one win, they have now added one win and one loss.

BCL-H1/BouwCenter Swinkels – ESBV Panache-H1: 1-7
The home match against the highly ranked Panache team was more exciting than the result suggests. Three of the eight matches had to be extended with a decisive third set. Once the match went to the Lieshout men (in the singles match of Wouter van Vijfeijken) and twice the match went to the Eindhoven opponent. Jeroen van der Heiden and Laurence Roijackers also lost their doubles in three sets, after which Laurence Roijackers also extended his singles match with a third set. Furthermore, the doubles match of Ruud and Wouter van Vijfeijken against Aditya Dattatraya Kulkarni and Justin Walters was very exciting. In the second set they even played to 24-26, which indicates that things were quite even in that set. However, they could not win.

BCL-H1/BouwCenter Swinkels – BC oosterhout-H2: 7-1
The Lieshout gentlemen caught up on the match against BC Oosterhout on a training evening, because there were no match days available to play this competition match. In this match too, three games had to be extended to determine a winner. Only Christian Klumpers (who came in for the absent Ruud van Vijfeijken) and Laurence Roijackers did not take this opportunity: they lost the third set 14-21. Jeroen van der Heiden did that and won 14-21, 21-12 and 21-16 against Edwin Kivits. With a loud shout he made it clear that he was very happy with the point he had won. Earlier, Wouter van Vijfeijken, Bert Manders and Laurence Roijackers had already won their singles match in two sets, allowing another 7 points to be added.
