The proceeds

An event for which this hype has been created will not fail to bring in great proceeds. According to some estimates it will be around 300 million dollars. A goal achieved with ticket sales, sponsors and the investment of Netflix. The streaming platform will broadcast the meeting for free, but the live broadcast was preceded by a three-episode documentary miniseries entitled “Countdown: Paul vs Tyson” which tells the story of the preparation of the two challengers. A lot of revenue comes from ticket sales: 80,000 have already been sold (the AT & T arena is one of the largest and most capacious in the NFL American football league), in figures between 155 and 10 thousand dollars. A significant part of the spoils, however, comes from sponsors. Mike Tyson is still a name of great appeal: not only for his sporting career which ended some time ago, but also for his many television and film appearances.

Jake Paul, on the other hand, is one of the most famous and followed digital creators in the world, with a following of hundreds of millions of people.

The earnings of the two

Perhaps we will see little of real sport. The rules will not be those of international boxing matches: the gloves will be larger (14 ounces compared to the standard 10) and the rounds will be 2 instead of 3. The prize money for the two challengers, however, will be at the level of the greatest fights ever. Apparently, Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet as it was called in the nineties, will gross approx 20 million dollars for his return to the ring after 19 years. Jake Paul he will earn more, also by virtue of his role in the organization: well 42 million dollars. Figures which, according to the purses of the challengers, would place the match in 5th place in the ranking of the richest of all time, surpassing the 1997 match in which Iron Mike bit Evander Holyfield’s ear until he tore off a piece of it.
