“Let children and young people be who they want to be and don’t tell them; “it’s wrong to look like that”.
I hoped I woke up one day and was just a boy.
In the past I was very anxious about public toilets and women’s dressing, now I am much more at ease with myself.
I am a fan of visualizing and use it every single day.”
The words are Miko Schiøtt Kongstads, a brave transman who, ever since kindergarten, has been able to feel that he felt like a boy. And even though his name was Mille at the time and he was biologically a girl.
Miko talks openly and honestly about her transition from woman to transman, a transition that peaked in 2021 with a top operation where the breasts were removed. He is now on hormone therapy.
At 16, Miko (Mille) tells her mother that she (she) would like to have her breasts removed at some point.
Look forward to an exciting episode where we talk about being non-binary, we’re going to the Island Games on Åland, a trip to the ladies’ changing room, visualization, hormone therapy and of course Miko gives three good pieces of advice for you who want to be mentally stronger.
17.00 What adversity and resistance has Miko met in his life because of one’s gender identity; i feel like a transman?
19.00 What requirements are there for today’s pedagogues, teachers and coaches in relation to accommodating more genders than just the two biological sexes (boy – girl)?
29.00 Badminton was a place and breathing space for Miko and he was really good at playing with the shuttlecock. However, two cruciate ligament injuries made Miko reflect on life and he gave up badminton at a high level.
32.30 Hear how Mille came to be called Miko.
40.00 What is a Mental Winner for Miko? And hear his definition of a “Mental Loser”.
An MV is a person who rests very much in himself, stands by his positions and opinions. Appears untouchable, but in a pleasant way towards other people. It is someone who respects other people even if they have different opinions.
A Mental Loser: tends to talk down to himself, can affect his surroundings with it, someone who does not give space to other people, is negative towards other people.
45.30 Miko’s three good tips for you who want to be mentally stronger.
Seek help
Express the feelings outwardly
Patience – things take time to get over
