SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) and the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) will begin this Friday (4:00 pm) the School Table Tennis Tournament in Parque de Este and in the same Students between the ages of 13 and 15 will participate, representing 17 of the 18 regional regions.
The executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, reported that the event, to be held from the 14th to the 17th of this month, is part of the calendar of school sports tournaments for the year 2024, which includes baseball, basketball and badminton.
He trusted that the “ping pong” contest will be carried out with great success, with the participation of students from the various school districts in the country.
“Our goal is to promote school sports in every corner of the country and ensure that all students have the opportunity to develop their physical and personal skills through healthy competition,” said Rodríguez.
“We are committed to the comprehensive education of our students, and sports are a fundamental tool to achieve this,” he argued.
Meanwhile, the technical director of INEFI, Eddy González, stated that this “is an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their talent and commitment in their discipline, while developing sportsmanship and learning to work as a team.”
González also highlighted that all participating athletes will be uniformed by the INEFI, and the winning teams will receive sports props as a prize.
