The second day of the Oriente 2024 National Sports Games, held this Saturday, brought Miranda a production of eight gold medals, 16 silver and two bronze.
Of that amount, five gold medals were won in swimming, through Nathalie Medina in the women’s 1,500 meters freestyle; Manuel Díaz, in the men’s 50 meters backstroke; Dennis Pérez, in the men’s 200 meter freestyle, as well as the 4×100 freestyle relay teams, both men’s and women’s.
Another that won the maximum recognition for the Mirandina cause, in the natural spaces of Mochima, Sucre state, was the four-woman kayak canoeing team, made up of Andrea Rivas, Andreina Urbano, María Soutino and Jeandra Velázquez, while the duo of women’s bowling, made up of the sisters Dainett and Dairelys González, were also dyed gold at the facilities of the Golf Country Club of Anzoátegui.
Meanwhile, the kikinbol team became national champion undefeated, at the Miguel “Tata” Solís Stadium of the Maturín Sports Center Arena Complex, by beating the Carabobo ninth team by a goal to zero, while Zulia was left with the bronzed metal.
The silver medals were obtained in the men’s 50 meters backstroke, men’s 200 meters freestyle, men’s 1,500 meters freestyle, men’s 100 meters breaststroke, women’s 50 meters backstroke, women’s 200 meters freestyle, and women’s 1,500 meters freestyle.
In canoeing, the silver medal was obtained in the women’s 200-meter pair kayak test, while the men’s gold-colored sport shooting quartet, 10-meter air pistol modality, also placed in second place.
For its part, on the first day of judo, which took place in the Gymnastics module of the Maturín Sports Center, four silver metals were won, while in fencing, in the men’s individual sword and individual foil modality women also obtained silver recognitions. The two bronze awards were achieved in the women’s 200 meter freestyle and in judo.
On the second day of the Oriente 2024 National Sports Games, Miranda is in first place in the overall medal table with 11 gold, 14 silver and five bronze metals for a total of 30 decorations.
