MM6 Maison Margiela x Dr. Martens: two styles, one shoe
The centerpiece of the collection is a model that represents the silhouette of Dr. Martens’ iconic 1460 boot with the minimalist 1461 derby shoe. This two-in-one version stands out from the brand’s other shoes thanks to its innovative construction: The hybrid shoe comes onto the market in two color variants – one in deep black and a second that combines the classic black with bright red. A moccasin hybrid also appears. This model combines the penny loafer with the three-eye Oxford and brings a particularly eye-catching, funky touch in red and black. The mix of colors and materials (rough and smooth leather) of the two styles gives the shoe an unusual, almost futuristic aesthetic that is still clearly Dr. Martens is recognizable. With the robust leather construction and the yellow decorative stitching that is typical of Dr. Martens, the shoe remains an unmistakable classic – but is taken to a new style level.
