Monaco will host the 29th international judo tournament at the Stade Louis II

The 29th edition of the Monaco International Judo Tournament (TIJM) will take place on Sunday December 8, 2024, bringing together the best European judokas in the Principality.

This year’s tournament will once again host the Gérard Bertrand Trophy, a team event named in honor of the contribution of the President of the Federation since 2015. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Monegasque Judo Federation, this tournament marks an important milestone for its president Sophie Vincent, tournament director. Florence Garcia, the national technical director François Bick and the technical advisor Marcel Pietri, who contributed to the organization of the anniversary.

After the excitement of the Paris Olympic Games, where the French judo team triumphed over Japan in a thrilling team final, the Salle Gaston Médecin in Monaco will welcome more than 100 international judokas. The tournament format features 14 teams of 7 members each, competing in a single-elimination format with automatic drafting. The first team to achieve four wins claims victory in each round, with each team guaranteed a minimum of two fights throughout the day.

The competitions start at 9:00 a.m., the semi-finals at 2:30 p.m., the third place match at 3:00 p.m. and the final showdown scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
