Violence on Mexico’s southern border, especially in the state of Chiapas, is overflowing due to the war waged by various cartels for control of the territory.
And, in addition to being one of the main routes for drug trafficking, it is also an obligatory passage for migrants traveling from Central and South America to the United States, which makes the entity the jewel in the crown for organized crime.
That is why, in addition to the increase in shootings and executions, seizures by the authorities also increased, such as the one that was recently recorded in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
Military elements, in coordination with state and federal forces, searched a property that was used as a safe house by a criminal group, finding in the place 29 vehicles, two of which are known as “monster trucks”.
In addition, they were seized 64 weapons of various calibers578 magazines, 1,196 cartridges, seven tactical vests and nine military-style helmets, without it being known to date to which criminal group all of this belonged.
In a recording shared by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, you can see at least a weapon decorated in goldin addition to the fact that one of the “monster vehicles” was completely covered with black steel plates, while another of the units was apparently in the process of being armored.
This seizure is an example of the war that has been waged in Chiapas for a few months due to the dispute between drug trafficking groups in the region.
According to organizations and activists, on the border with Guatemala the Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartelas well as the self-named Chiapas and Guatemala Cartel.
