This Sunday, Moral de Calatrava hosted the first test of the Provincial School Badminton Championship, in the eastern zone. The podiums were distributed among different entities, although Moral de Calatrava and Llanos del Caudillo were the ones that achieved the best results.
106 children participated, divided into the sub 11, 13, 15, and 17 categories of CEIP Manuel Clemente (Moral), CEIP San José de Calasanz (Membrilla) and municipalities of Moral, Aldea del Rey, Llanos del Caudillo, Torre de Juan Abad , Miguelturra, Villahermosa and Villanueva de los Infantes.
All categories were played with a group stage and main draw, except for the under 13 men’s category due to a higher participation, which competed through the main draw and consolation draw.
The matches from the quarterfinals onwards were very close and many of them decided on a point at sudden death.

The day had the collaboration of the Moral Badminton Club and the town’s City Council, represented by Antonio José García Valencia, as Sports Councilor.
The next appointment with provincial badminton will be on December 1 to play the first day of the southern zone in Agudo.
