The Chiapas de Corazón Auditorium, located in the Chiapas State Sports Institute, was gala to receive the judokas who represented Mexico in the recent Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Paulina Martínez and the silver medalist, Prisca Guadalupe Awiti Alcaraz, at a Judo Training Camp, where more than 100 athletes attended.

Paulina Martínez is originally from the state of Jalisco, but represents the state of Guanajuato. The Jalisco native was born in 1999 and began practicing judo at the age of 7, being a hyperactive girl. She has been selected nationally since she was 17 years old and among her achievements within the -52 kg category have been: 2 silver medals, one at the Pan American Games Santiago, Chile 2023 and the Pan American Judo Championship Calgary, Canada 2023 and, being present at the Paris 2024 JO, concluding in the round of 32, after losing to the German, Mascha Ballhaus, was also part of the EXATLÓN México sports program.

Prisca Awiti was born in London, on February 20, 1996, to a Kenyan father and a Mexican mother. His beginning in judo was at the Enfiel Judo Club in London, along with his brothers. Starting in 2017, he represented Mexico. Among his achievements in the -63 kg weight are: a bronze medal at the 2023 Pan American Games, 2 silver medals at the Guadalajara 2021 and Calgary 2023 Pan American Judo Championships and his 2 participations in JO, being Tokyo 2020 (2021) , where she finished in the 16th place against Bold Gankhaich from Mongolia and, Paris 2024, where she won the silver medal, after facing the Slovenian, Andreja Leski.

It should be noted that Prisca Awiti is the 3rd time she has attended a training camp at INDEPORTE in Chiapas. The first was during August 2021 and the second was in June 2023 and, on this occasion, Luis Alberto Damas Martínez, president of the Alliance of Chiapas Judokas, together with INDETUX and endorsed by the Mexican Judo Federation, managed to make Chiapas the first state to hold this event with the Olympic medalist.

On day 1 of the camp, Prisca Awiti was in charge of teaching the class, where they practiced judo defense and attack movements, in addition to getting to know each other and sharing experiences. For the second day, Paulina Martínez was in charge of the activities, warming up, teaching games, polishing takedown and grappling techniques and, finally, they carried out combats.

In addition, both Olympians gave a brief combat demonstration, then moved on to the question section, where they shared their adventures in judo, mainly in the Olympic Games, giving advice on managing pre- and post-competition pressure and self-confidence. same. At the end, Prisca Awiti surprised the audience by presenting the Olympic medal.

The students who attended the seminar were from the state of Chiapas, CDMX, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Veracruz, who did not miss the opportunity to take a photograph and an autograph to remember with both Olympic judokas, who have their goal set towards Los Angeles 2028.
