Multipurpose hall will be built in Mahamaya Stadium

Ghaziabad, correspondent. A multipurpose hall will be built in Mahamaya Sports Stadium. In this modern multipurpose hall, players will get the facility to practice boxing, table tennis, chess and basketball under one roof. After the proposal of the District Sports Department was approved, the way for its construction was cleared. About 600 players will benefit from this. Mahamaya Sports Stadium located in the city is developed as a government stadium. Spread over 12 acres, players from far and wide come to this stadium to take training in sports like cricket, football, hockey, basketball, badminton etc. Currently, no place has been selected in the stadium for table tennis, wrestling or chess. Due to this, players associated with this game face difficulty in practicing. To solve the problem of players, a plan was made to build a multipurpose hall at Mahamaya Stadium. For this, the District Sports Department had sent a proposal to the government to build a multipurpose hall in the stadium complex. Which has been approved. Its work will be started after the new year. District Deputy Sports Officer Poonam Bishnoi said that the Sports Department is constantly trying to provide better facilities to the players in the stadium. This multipurpose hall will be modern in which players will be given training in basketball, sports etc. under one roof. There will be facilities to practice games like boxing, table tennis, chess, carrom etc. With its construction, about 600 players of all these sports will benefit from it. Competitions from district level to state level can be organized in this hall. He said that high level facilities will be available for the players in this multipurpose hall. All the resources related to sports will be available in the hall so that the players do not face any problem in practicing. This will encourage the players to practice better and they will be able to bring glory to the district by winning many medals in the future. The hall will also have better lighting for players to practice. So that they can practice their sports even at night.

Practice will not be affected by rain

After it rains in the stadium, the field becomes wet due to which players are not able to practice. Apart from this, players’ practice sometimes gets affected due to harsh sunlight. But after the construction of this hall, players will not face any problem in practicing due to sun and rain. They will be able to practice their sports better in this indoor hall without any hindrance.

When the Judo Hall is also ready

District Deputy Sports Officer said that the construction work of the modern Judo Hall being built in the stadium premises itself is almost finished. The work of finishing and laying stones is left. About 350 judo players will be able to practice simultaneously in the hall. Apart from this, yoga practice will also be conducted in the hall. Currently, the work is closed due to lockdown.
