The municipal judo schools of Comodoro Rivadavia held their annual closing at the Ingeniero Huergo Club, with the coordination of the leaders Aldana Smart and Florencia Fernández. A general class was held, with awards given to athletes from the Evita and Araucanía National Games, as well as outstanding judokas per dojo.
The president of the Comodoro Sports Entity, Professor Hernán Martínez, attended along with the general director of Sports Martín Gurisich, accompanying the municipal judo leaders Aldana Smart and Florencia Fernández, who were in charge of the organization of the annual closing of the discipline.
After a closing class with the presence of the municipal schools of Gimnasio Nº1, Nº3, Nº4 and the Club Huergo premises, a closing ceremony was held with the presentation of recognitions.
“Thanks to the family, to the two references who do an excellent job. To the instructors, to our athletes. We are very proud of municipal judo, for what it is and always has been. Thank the coaches for the work they do with the kids, because it is social work, and judo has that particularity. Thank you to the family for trusting our schools and our teachers. We apologize because we know that many times we are not up to par as a State, because it is difficult for us, but we are committed to improving day by day, and you, as in other disciplines, show us the way a little,” said Professor Hernán. Martinez.
“We had a very positive year, we were able to do one event per month, bringing together between 100 and 150 competitors. We had the last event at Municipal Nº1 with mixed teams. This year, 90% of Evita’s team was made up of students from municipal schools, something similar happened with Araucanía. We have the veterans who participated in the South American, Pan American and World Cup, with a leading role starting this year with good results,” described the reference Aldana Smart.
“We always thank Hernán, Martín, and our coordinators who help us all the time to manage our events for their support. Hernán and Martín are always present to give us a hand, so that the boys can train, compete, travel. The guys from the Cabinet who always prepare us athletes from Evita, Araucanía, now Veterans. To Chubut Deportes too, everyone was very present this year and we thank them a lot,” Smart concluded.
The closing of the event included recognition of the outstanding students of each dojo, and the judokas who participated in the Evita National Games, the Binational Games of Araucanía and the Veterans.
Brisa Smart, Samantha Acosta, Selena Calfuqueo, Gael Benítez, Franco Landa and Jeremías Mora were participants in the Evita Nationals, under the command of instructors Aldana Smart and Shabik Lemus.
