National Men’s Basketball Team defeated Hungary with a score of 92-66 in its third match in Group B of the 2025 European Championship Qualifiers.
In the first official match played at the Basketball Development Center (BGM), Turkey’s national basketball players achieved a great victory by defeating Hungary by 26 points in a historical atmosphere. BGM had its official opening with the Presidential Cup match held on September 29.
Visit from Minister Bak to Match
Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak followed the match of 12 Giant Men against Hungary from the stands. Minister Bak was accompanied by Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) President Hidayet Türkoğlu and board members.

The stands at BGM were decorated with Turkish flags and flags were left on every seat before the match. Fans in the hall of 10 thousand people showed their support for their team with flags. The national team started the match quickly, competing in an enthusiastic atmosphere and with the support of its fans.

At the beginning of the match, the national team was ahead with a score of 13-11 in the 5th minute. With the effective play of Şehmus Hazer, Türkiye finished the first quarter ahead with a score of 27-20.
Second Quarter
While the national team’s attacks came to a halt in the second quarter, there was a temporary disruption in Turkey’s game order. However, with Cedi Osman’s energy on the field and a critical basket, the national team recovered and finished the half ahead with a score of 43-37.
Third Quarter
Türkiye started the second half quickly and increased the difference to double digits with Furkan Haltalı’s dunk in the 25th minute. Aiming to reduce the gap with Hanga and Filipovity’s three-point baskets, Hungary took a step back against Turkey’s defense and could not reduce the gap to 13 points. At the end of the period, the national team entered the last quarter maintaining a 62-49 advantage.
Last Quarter
Cedi Osman, who left his mark on the field in the last quarter, made a great contribution to Turkey’s victory. Türkiye increased the difference to 24 points towards the end of the match and won the match with a score of 92-66.
