National coach Dick Advocaat has qualified for the Gold Cup with Curaçao. A convincing 4-1 home win over competitor Saint Lucia was enough for the group win in division B of the local Nations League and thus direct qualification for the final tournament in Canada and the United States next year. Gervane Kastaneer and Juninho Bacuna both scored twice for Curaçao.
Curaçao did not qualify for the Gold Cup last year under the leadership of Remko Bicentini, but it did the three times before. Advocaat has been the national coach of Curaçao for more than a year.
In the A division of the Nations League of North and Central America, PSV striker Ricardo Pepi scored once in the American 4-2 win over Jamaica. As a result, the Americans qualified for the semifinals of the tournament.
