The award ceremony will be held at Tokyo Nail Expo 2024, one of the world’s largest nail festivals, and the award will be presented to celebrities from various fields who have contributed to expanding the recognition of nail art.
Tsunoda competed for the first time at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which was held from July to August, at the age of 31 years and 11 months, becoming the oldest woman in Japanese judo history, and won the gold medal in the 48 kg weight class. When asked about his thoughts on receiving the award, he said, “Since the Paris Olympics are coming up, I had my sister do gold dragon nails for New Year’s Day, which is considered auspicious, so I started this year feeling uplifted.” I’m really happy to have received this award.”
When asked about the effect of Kinryu’s nails, he answered, “I was able to win the gold medal!”, which excited the audience. Also, the nails that day were medal-specific, saying, “I had them use gold and have my nails done to match the gold medal.”
As an athlete, he says that he cannot grow his nails long, but he explains why he still wants to get his nails done, saying, “It allows me to show a different side of myself than when I’m doing judo. Let’s do our best!”
■Elf Arakawa tears of joy
From the comedy world, Elf’s Arakawa received the award, and he shed tears of joy, saying, “I’m really happy! I’m about to cry…” and added, “Because I really love nail art, and this was my dream award. (Nails) are like an essential part of a gal’s body, and even if it’s tiring or tiring, there are many times when I can do my best because my nails are cute. I really feel that way,” he said.
She usually wears 6cm nails, but she cut them to 8cm for the award ceremony. She said she had “given up” on daily life, and was grateful, saying, “My partner helped me fasten my buttons, and I had a lot of people help me.” She said the biggest problem she had was, “When I hugged her during a skit, she broke my nails.” I was like, “What?” but I just went ahead and did it.”
When Tsunoda saw this nail, he commented, “I don’t think I can do judo like this because I think it could hurt the other person…” (lol).
