ANTIAGO.- The Linda de Navarrete team stopped Tamboril’s undefeated team in 8, in the LXV Santiago Amateur Baseball Tournament, dedicated to Mayor Ulises Rodríguez, dividing the two municipalities in Sunday’s doubleheader.
Tamboril added its eighth straight win in the first game, when it won 13 runs to 3, at the Virgilio Veras stadium in Navarrete.
The victory went to Pedro Reyes and Juan Carlos Mesón suffered the defeat, for those led by Geraldo Jiménez.
But in the second match, Linda defeated Tamboril 10-6 to break their undefeated record, with success for Wellington Quintero and failure for Elián Ventura.
The drum troop had Josué Chala with a home run and 3 singles; Michael Rosario, double and two with one base, Rainiel Rosario and MacKendy Ovil, three rockets.
For Navarrete, Miguel Alejandro climbed the ladder to the third floor with a triple, double and single and Steven Fermín (son of Félix Fermín), home run, double and single.

The Coquero Baseball Academy team beat Mercado Futuras Estrellas twice, at THE Freddy Toribio STADIUM, in La Barranquita.
The first game was a great game that ended with a close 2-1 score, with great pitching work from Wilson Acosta, who struck out 10 of the 28 batters he faced, in 7.0 innings, only allowing one run and 2 transfers.
Ronny Cruz suffered defeat in the event organized by the Santiago Baseball Association (ABESA) and where the champion will win the Santiago Mayor’s Cup.
In the second game, Coquero Baseball Academy won again with a score of 6-2, with Juan Álvarez in the box who scored the victory and the loss went to Elvison Almonte.
Alexander Santana and Brailin Rodríguez each hit three singles, while Anthony Abreu hit a double.
For Mercado Futuras Estrellas, Diony Medina, triple and single, Aaron Fernández and Yamal Marte, unstoppable.
CIENFUEGOS
In another doubleheader, the representative of the Unión Deportiva de Cienfuegos beat Tranquilo Tavárez twice. In the first they won 7-0, with a shutout for Daury Rodríguez, who walked 9.0 innings, faced 34 batters, gave up 4 hits, 2 walks and struck out 16 opponents. The defeat was for Braniel Tavárez.
In the second the boys from Cienfuegos won again with a large score of 17-2, with victory for Odalis Álvarez and failure for Wilmer Martínez.
Yosmil Fernández and Luis López made themselves felt with a double and two singles, Mike Márquez, three with one base; Warlin Aguilera and Anthony Vargas, two in no man’s land.
For the Tranquilo Tavárez Academy, Brayan Estrella stood out, with a double and two singles; Wilfry Rodríguez, a triple and Ender Piña, a single.
