Atlanta and Dallas cruised past their matchups against New Orleans and Orlando on an NBA night limited to just three games.
In a game without great intensity, the Atlanta Hawks dominated the New Orleans Pelicans (126-111), without Zion Williamson in the last minute due to a “tightening” of a hamstring. Jalen Johnson came close to a triple-double for the Hawks (29 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists). Ingram’s 32 points were not enough for the Pelicans (3 wins – 4 losses), who now have the same record as the Hawks. Another home defeat for the Brooklyn Nets, surprised by the Detroit Pistons (106-92).
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Orlando Magic just as easily (108-85). Only one magician was seen on the pitch, the Slovenian Luka Doncic, for a record of 4 victories and 2 defeats.
Doncic, who led the Texans to the NBA finals last spring, made the difference in the first period (25 points), to finish with 32 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists on 11 of 22 shooting. Orlando (3 wins – 4 defeats) harmless without its champion Paolo Banchero, injured in his abdominals and out for an indefinite period.
