The NBA ruled that the Hawks did not have a valid reason – medically – to have rested Trae Young during the game against Boston in the NBA Cup. The result? An infraction of the Player participation policyand a $100,000 fine!
The amount is steep, but everyone is well aware of the penalties incurred, as others would say. The Hawks were in any case caught by the NBA for leaving Trae Young in civilian clothes on November 12. The league conducted an investigation with an independent specialist, who ruled that Young was ultimately fit to play.

A violation of the Player participation policy, regulations put in place last season to limit the absences of major players during the regular season and the Playoffs. The objective is obviously to encourage teams to send their stars on the floor as many times as possible to create interest, and therefore audiences.
