Not even the best Giannis Antetokounmpo of the season enough for the Milwaukee Bucks to avoid yet another defeat of this very difficult start to the season. The two-time MVP immediately sends a message starting with 19 points in the first quarter alone putting the Boston Celtics defense on fire, also leading the home team to maximum advantage on +17, but an accomplice Damian Lillard having difficulty shooting (14 points but with 4/15 shooting and 1/8 from three) the Bucks never manage to give the decisive push to the game. The reigning champions, however, remained in the match in the first half thanks to a goal excellent Payton Pritchard (18 points) and in the second half they level up, led by a Jayson Tatum who argues with the basket (7/21 from the field) but still closes at altitude 31 points with 12 rebounds and 6 assistsfollowed by Jaylen Brown’s 14 and 15 each Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, absolutely monumental on defense.
Giannis at 43 isn’t enough, 8th knockout out of 10 for Milwaukee
Antetokounmpo perhaps wanted to prove to the rest of the league that he could single-handedly beat the reigning champions, but not even that Herculean effort of 43 points (50th career milestone), 13 rebounds and 5 assists with 18/29 shooting in 39 minutes enough for his team to beat the Celtics. From the bench Bobby Portis (15 points) e AJ Green (four triples for 12 points) try to make their contribution, but the Bucks, despite their efforts, seem to be very far from being able to cause difficulty a version of the Celtics for whom it was enough to tighten two screws in attack and defense to be able to bring home the victory, demonstrating once again how much distance there is at the moment between the two teams beyond the already huge discrepancy in the rankings.
