Charlotte Hornets winger Grant Williams will miss the remainder of the NBA season after suffering a significant right knee injury.
Williams suffered tears to his ACL, meniscus and other related ligaments late in a game Saturday in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
He was attacking the basket with just under four minutes to play and when he slowed down to beat an opponent, his knee completely gave out and Williams found himself on the ground in pain. He got up to return to his team’s bench, but stopped halfway there, visibly too affected to walk.
Williams had a good start to the season, being used nearly 30 minutes per game. He joined the Hornets at the trade deadline last season.
