NBA, the Boston Celtics at the White House on Thursday

The White House will welcome the Boston Celtics il November 21st at 4.30pmaccording to the Office of Massachusetts Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg. The Celtics have not yet made an official announcement. Boston faces the Washington Wizards on Friday and has two days off after Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, giving the Celtics time to celebrate the championship with President Joe Biden, now in his final days in office.

The winning teams visit the White House after winning their respective championships. The 2023 NBA champion Denver Nuggets did not travel to Washington D.C. last year due to scheduling conflicts. But the Golden State Warriors, champions in 2022, did it. The Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 visit was the first NBA team visit to the White House since 2016. Thursday’s visit will mark the Celtics’ first since 2008, when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
