Despite a modest performance by Geneva center Clint Capela and a false start to the game, the Hawks won against league leader Cleveland 135:124. As soon as the game started, the guests from Atlanta were 0:10 behind. The deficit grew to 19 points at times in the first quarter. Finally the Hawks fought back and made the difference in the final period.

For the Cavaliers it was only the second defeat in the 19th game of the season, the first in front of a home crowd. With this surprising success, the Hawks broke a three-game losing streak. Capela only contributed 2 points and 9 assists. He only had a worse record twice this season.

Wizards remain in the deep

The Washington Wizards are still in the doldrums. In the 96:121 at home against the Clippers – their 13th defeat in a row – the franchise from the capital once again had no chance. Valaisan Kyshawn George played 26 minutes but only recorded 2 points and 4 rebounds.
