“Rip City” has now balanced its record at home (4 wins-4 losses) and if it does not leave 13th place in the Western Conference it returns to the level of San Antonio (6v-8d) before tackling a series of five trips, the first of which, Wednesday, will take them to Oklahoma City.
The Thunder, in fact, suffered defeat at home against Dallas 119-121. A little surprise insofar as the Mavericks were not doing very well since the start of the season with a negative record before the meeting (6v-7d). Additionally, the Texans played without their star Luka Doncic. Kyrie Irving took over the role of leader of the attack and PJ Washington took advantage of the absence in the racket of Chet Holmgren, the talented OKC pivot. Irving scored 23 points and gave 6 assists. Washington scored 27 points and dominated the interior game with 17 rebounds including 6 offensive ones.
For OKC, Ajay Mitchell played 19 minutes, the second longest playing time for a substitute. No more than Camara, the LiƩgeois showed no skill (1/5 on shots) and his statistical record turned out to be rather meager: 3 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 1 interception.
After this 3rd defeat in fourteen games, Oklahoma City is 2nd in the West behind Golden State (10-2) at rest on Sunday.
